Profitable Traders Do Nothing 99% Of the Time

Profitable Traders Do Nothing 99% Of the Time

What is the most important reason why most traders end up losing money in the market? It's simple: they do too much, they think too much, they see the graphics too much, they trade too much, they risk too much and so on.

The most successful traders and investors of our time spend 99% of their time waiting for opportunities and studying the markets, instead of exchanging them. Approximately 1% of your commercial effort is spent on the execution of operations and management positions. In other words, most of the time they are not doing ANYTHING. Can you say the same? Or, are you investing 99% of your time in entering and managing stores and only 1% of your time is waiting patiently?

If you ever read my articles about what crocodiles can teach us about trade or the sniper approach, it is obvious that my negotiation style is a low conviction and high frequency approach. So, why should you take a similar approach with your trade? Keep reading to discover ...

The 'hunting' implies a LOT of waiting.
Just as a crocodile spends most of its time stalking its prey, a profitable operator spends most of its time stalking good offices. You want to trade as a predator, not as a prey in the market, what I mean is that you want to be the trader who waits patiently in the "bushes" for the "easy deaths". You do not want to be the masses of prey (amateur traders) that are 'devoured' by professional traders every week.

How do you manage to be the predator and not the prey? It's really simple, wait, wait and wait more.

I like to say that I am in the "hurry up and wait" mode so that the right market conditions are presented. What this means is that I'm really excited to wait, because I know that waiting means I'm exercising self-control and I'm patient and disciplined, and I know that's how you make money in the markets. I have no problem in waiting for the correct configuration to be formed with the perfect confluence of the market, sometimes for weeks or even months.

The reason is simple, because I know in fact that trading with high frequency is the way in which money is lost in the market and trading with low frequency is the way to become a profitable trader. Each trader finally learns this fact with enough time and experience in the market.

Warren Buffet is a master of doing 'nothing'
My favorite metaphor and concept to teach people how to change is that of a sniper. The sniper negotiation approach, as defined in my article on this topic, is basically that I patiently wait like a sniper to align my predefined trading criteria, instead of negotiating or 'firing' at everything like a machine gunner.

It is perhaps not surprising that this is also the way in which the "biggest investor" manages himself and his activity in the market. I'm talking about nothing less than the great Buffet Warren, of course. Think about how you handle billions of dollars, it's not entering the market every day, that's for sure! All you have to do is read a book about him or see the recent documentary about him, "Becoming Warren Buffet", and you will see that he is an extremely patient and accurate investor.

Not only is Buffet patient and precise about the transactions it makes in the market, when it is ready, it is submerged, boots and everything. Sometimes, he even buys the entire company! I would call Mr. Buffet an investor of low conviction and low conviction. As traders, we can learn a lot from Mr. Buffet. While we are doing something a little different to long-term investment or "buy and hold", we should in fact model our swing trading approach after Mr. Buffet

Can you see it? The point here is that most of the time, profitable investors and traders are doing 'nothing' and, to no avail, I mean they are not entering into operations or managing operations. In fact, they may be studying or analyzing the market in the meantime, but this would count as 'stalking' their prey.

Change how you think about doing 'nothing'
It is innate for us humans to want a "quick emotion" in everything we do. It has been proven that the constant control of social networks in our phones increases the amount of dopamine (the chemical to feel good) in our brain, for example. We are a society addicted to doing what feels good more often than doing what IS good. We are born with a brain of players or speculators, who look for instant rewards and emotions in life and with money.

When it comes to trade, the ramifications for such behavior can be severe.

It can lead to treating your trading account as if it were a slot machine. Many traders end up entering stores, one after the other, as if they were pulling the arm of a slot machine over and over again in a casino. Of course, the difference is that, normally, we expect to lose in a casino, so most of us do not accept the money we need. In trading, many people believe that they will be profitable because of some "innate ability" they have, so they often risk more than they should or trade with money that they can not really afford to lose. Of course, once they start trading and get the dose of dopamine, it becomes an addiction that leads to the exploitation of their commercial accounts.

How do you change this poisonous trading mentality?

The way we circumnavigate our own defective business mentality is simply to understand, accept and then embrace the idea of doing nothing. Accept what you consider "boring" and meditate on it. Eventually, after some large commercial gains that resulted from patiently waiting for highly confluent exchanges, he will begin to realign his thought processes and the dopamine fever he used to enter the stores and play with them while they were live will change to the periods of time you are waiting for and stalking the market. When you feel that you are not doing enough, you are in the right area, you must be able to do nothing and you can do it by finding something else to replace that 'emptiness'.

Once you realize that being patient and studying the market or simply not looking at the market at all, will make you earn more money in the long term than the opposite, the chemistry of your brain will begin to 'flip', and soon you will . Expect the "hunt", even if that means waiting two weeks between exchanges.

conclusion
The market is slower than we imagined, and exchanges can take a long time. Take the following chart, for example: it shows that patience is needed to capture large movements, and we must ignore short-term "abrupt movements" that cause most operators to think too much and leave prematurely ...

The price action settings I market do not appear very often, and when we apply the TLS filtering rule and expect that confluence, business opportunities are further reduced. My negotiation courses can share my negotiation strategy, but they can not force me to be patient and wait for the right opportunity to arrive. It's one thing to have confidence in detecting exchanges, but do you trust your ability not to trade too much, even in the face of the constant temptation of graphics? If you know that this is your weakness (and I guess it is for most people who read this), spend MORE time getting that aspect of your commercial right, and I guarantee that your account balance will be appreciated.

I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR HIS THOUGHTS, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW :)

6 Things to Consider When Choosing the Forex Broker

6 Things to Consider When Choosing the Forex Broker

The retail forex market is so competitive that just thinking about having to sift through all the available brokers can give you a major headache.
Choosing which forex broker to trade with can be a very overwhelming task especially if you don’t know what you should be looking for.
In this section, we will discuss the qualities you should look for when picking a forex broker.

1. Security

Forex Broker ChecklistThe first and foremost characteristic that a good broker must have is a high level of security. After all, you’re not going to hand over thousands of dollars to a person who simply claims he’s legit, right?
Fortunately, checking the credibility of a forex broker isn’t very hard. There are regulatory agencies all over the world that separate the trustworthy from the fraudulent.
Below is a list of countries with their corresponding regulatory bodies:
  • United States: National Futures Association (NFA) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)
  • United Kingdom: Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA)
  • Australia: Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC)
  • Switzerland: Swiss Federal Banking Commission (SFBC)
  • Germany: Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFIN)
  • France: Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF)
  • Canada:  Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF)
Before even THINKING of putting your money in a broker, make sure that the broker is a member of the regulatory bodies mentioned above.

2. Transaction Costs

No matter what kind of currency trader you are, like it or not, you will always be subject to transaction costs.
Every single time you enter a trade, you will have to pay for either the spread or a commission so it is only natural to look for the most affordable and cheapest rates.
Sometimes you may need to sacrifice low transaction for a more reliable broker.
Make sure you know if you need tight spreads for your type of trading, and then review your available options. It’s all about finding the correct balance between security and low transaction costs.

3. Deposit and Withdrawal

Good FX brokers will allow you to deposit funds and withdraw your earnings hassle-free.
Brokers really have no reason to make it hard for you to withdraw your profits because the only reason they hold your funds is to facilitate trading.
Your broker only holds your money to make trading easier so there is no reason for you to have a hard time getting the profits you have earned. Your broker should make sure that the withdrawal process is speedy and smooth.

4. Trading Platform

In online forex trading, most trading activity happens through the brokers’ trading platform. This means that the trading platform of your broker must be user-friendly and stable.
When looking for a broker, always check what its trading platform has to offer.
Does it offer free news feed? How about easy-to-use technical and charting tools? Does it present you with all the information you will need to trade properly?

5. Execution

It is mandatory that your broker fills you at the best possible price for your orders.
Under normal market conditions (e.g. normal liquidity, no important news releases or surprise events), there really is no reason for your broker to not fill you at, or very close to, the market price you see when you click the “buy” or “sell” button.
For example, assuming you have a stable internet connection, if you click “buy” EUR/USD for 1.3000, you should get filled at that price or within micro-pips of it. The speed at which your orders get filled is very important, especially if you’re a scalper.
A few pips difference in price can make that much harder on you to win that trade.

6. Customer Service

Forex Broker Customer ServiceBrokers aren’t perfect, and therefore you must pick a broker that you could easily contact when problems arise.
The competence of brokers when dealing with account or technical support issues is just as important as their performance on executing trades.

Choosing a Forex Scalping Signals Provider That You Can Trust

Choosing a Forex Scalping Signals Provider That You Can Trust

Scalping refers to very quick trades where money in the market multiplies within minutes. So Forex scalping signals are generally considered a quick money spinning strategy. As a result, the Forex scalping market has become a kind of magnet - it attracts more and more people around the world because everyone wants to make quick money. As a result, too many alerts providers in the market have started claiming themselves to be expert scalpers, providing signal services to help traders in making profits. When in the Forex market, it's very important to make sure about the criteria you should use to pick a signal provider in order to not lose all your money. So, let us discuss the important features to consider while choosing a Forex scalping signals provider that you can trust.

# Look for...
1. Past performance: Market understanding comes with experience - a fact that will reflect in the past performance of the scalping signals provider. Make sure you examine their report card - profits made by their clients based on the signals they provided. This will give you an idea of the accuracy of their signals.

2. Consistency: Scalping signals are time sensitive and hence, the signals provider you select should be reliable and consistent with their services. At a minimum, they should at least provide you signals as per the schedule committed by them.

3. Expertise: Find out everything you can about the people running the signal providing company. What kind of market expertise do they possess? How professional are they with this service? How well do they understand market dynamics? Their expertise will determine the quality of signals you receive and the profits you make on your trades.

4. Promptness: As indicated above, scalping is a time sensitive affair - market opportunities come and go within minutes. In a situation where your trade window spans just about 3-5 minutes, you need a signals provider that can tell you what to do promptly and accurately.

# Beware of...
1. Promises of huge profits: Be careful of overly pompous service providers with unrealistic claims of success on the market. If a scalping signal provider promises you a high return on 'more' investment, it's possible that you have found a fraud who may cheat you out of your money.

2. No-loss trading guarantees: Any professional Forex scalping signal provider cannot guarantee you 100% profits with scalping trading. Any claim of No-loss-results raises a glaring red flag.

Keep the above tips in mind when choosing a Forex scalping signals provider for your trade requirements.

Forex Chart Types And How To Choose The Best

Forex Chart Types And How To Choose The Best

Forex trading is a very lucrative line of investing. However, to be successful you would need to make serious decisions such as the currencies to pair and when to do so. You may need to do plenty of research to be able to maximize your profits. There are so many ways of predicting currency value movement to help you make the right decision and Forex trading charts are some of the best in making the comparisons.

The charts are designed to show performance of particular Forex currency. Using the charts, you can check the historical performance of the same, so you can determine how suitable it is to make a move. The charts record several prices in specified timeframes making it possible for you to view high price, average and low price of a currency you are interested in compared with others. With this information, you will be able to do trades of the stock as predicted by the charts. The charts are definitely helpful for any serious Forex trader or investor.

Forex chart types

The charts come in different types and the most popular and commonly used are bar charts, candlestick charts and line charts.

Bar charts - They are a bit complex and designed to show opening and closing prices. Using these charts you can also view highs and lows. They contain a vertical bar which indicated lowest traded price at the bottom during a specified time period. At the top of the bar is the highest price paid indication. The bar also has a horizontal hash on left side showing opening price and on the right side of the horizontal hash is the closing price. A bar simply means one segment of time, whether it is an hour, day or week.

Line charts - The line charts are simple to use and read. They have a line running from one closing price to the next. When the two periods are together, it becomes possible to see the general price movement of the currency pair within a given period of time.

Candlestick charts - These charts are very similar to bar charts only that they come with graphic formats that are much more attractive and pleasant. They use a vertical line to indicate high to low range. In this kind of charting, the middle block of the line which is largest indicates range between opening and closing prices. This block is usually color filled when the currency closes lower that it opened. The candlestick charts are majorly for visual aid because they have the same information found on bar charts. Most traders prefer the candlestick charts because they are easy to interpret and give beginners an easy time figuring out chart analysis. They are also easy to use and the patterns come with exciting names to help you remember what they mean.

Common charting periods

The different trading charts all illustrate price movement over a period of time. This means that there are charting periods you should get familiar with depending on what matters to your trades. The market view can drastically change when you switch to a different time horizon.

Monthly charts - They are Forex trading charts that illustrate price movement over a longer time horizon. Long term investors will find these kind of charting most suitable; they can represent years of price data for that particular market.

Weekly charts - They also make good options for investors and trader with a longer term time horizon. If you wish to analyze intermediate term time, you will find these charts appropriate. They are usually used to analyze periods in six months excess.

Daily charts - They are one-day interval charts and are the most commonly used charts by investors. They analyze periods in six weeks excess and come in handy for short and intermediate term time periods.

Intraday charts - These charts illustrate the movement of prices within the daily opening and closing bells of the given market. They can be divided into Intraday hourly charts, 15 minute charts and even 5 minute charts. These shorter period charts are great for scalping and day trades that last few minutes, a few hours to a few trading days.

Why use the charts?

Forex trading can be very profitable when approached strategically. The trading charts offer a much easier way for investors and traders to make their decision because they:

· Come with multiple time frames that allow traders to see market patterns and trends easily

· Have customizable tools that allow every trader to get a fit that is just right for their trading needs

· Feature overlay of a number of indicators for each currency pair or commodity in the market

· Offer assistance to traders, especially in making decisions in real-time

Most brokers offer the charts free to trader who choose to use their platform. This way, they are able to keep them active in the market. You may have immediate access to the trading charts as soon as you open an account with your Forex broker of choice. Alternatively, you can choose to pay for the data feed whose price will depend on the markets being traded. Using a broker is a much more affordable option and you may want to consider this, especially if you are just starting.

Choosing the best chart

A good chart should be easy to use on any given platform. You really do not want to take forever trying to be proficient in using software because you may just lose too much of valuable trading time.

The charting package that you choose should also give you an easy time downloading and setting up. Most packages include detailed setup instructions as well as user manuals which ease your learning.

Choose a charting package that offers trading indicators for different trading strategies. You should be able to see where your trades take place without necessarily being overwhelmed by too much coding.

Consider the time frames so you can get updates under the most appropriate intervals matching the investing window you are interested in.

Renko charts filter noise of lower and upper shadows, making it very easy to note a trend. You can customize brick sizes and use intraday time frames to build the charts.

Forex Trading Strategies - What Are Your Options?

Forex Trading Strategies - What Are Your Options?

Forex trading revolves around currency trading. The value of the currency can rise and fall as a result of different factors that include economics and geopolitics. The changes in the currency value are what factor in the profits for Forex traders and this is the main objective of getting into the trades. The trading strategies are sets of analysis used by the traders to determine whether they should sell or buy currency pairs at a given period of time.

These strategies can be technical analysis charting tools based or news based. They are made of a multiple of signals that trigger the decisions whether to buy or sell the currencies a trader is interested in. The strategies are free for use or they can also be offered at a fee and are usually developed by the Forex traders themselves.

The strategies can also be automated or manual. Manual systems require a trader to sit and look for signals and also interpret them so they can decide whether to sell or buy. Automated systems on the other give traders more flexibility because they can customize software to look out for specific signals and interpret them. Trading strategies may not be all that perfect in making money, but when you have a sound understanding of what they are all about, it becomes easier to adopt reliable approaches when trading in the currencies.

Forex Trading Strategy Types

There are so many strategies out there that can be used by Forex traders. The most important thing would be for the trader to decide what strategy matches the kind of trading experience they wish to have and what strategies offer the best signals for interpretation so the best trading moves can be taken. Below are some of the top strategies most traders use and some you should consider if you are a beginner in the markets.

Forex volatility strategies - The Forex market can be volatile, meaning that the prices can make very sharp jumps. Volatility systems are created to take advantage of the price actions and are usually best for short term and quick trades. The systems are also based on volatility increase and whereas their winning percentage of trades may be higher, the profits earned per trade can be comparatively low. This strategy is best for traders and investors who understand the volatility perception.

Forex trend following strategies - These strategies use market trend marketing to guide traders towards their long term trading goals. Moving average, current market price calculation and channel breakouts are commonly used to generate signals and decide the best market direction to take. Instead of predicting or forecasting prices, traders using these strategies only follow the market trend.

Forex scalping strategies - Scalping in Forex involves making multiple trades with each of the trades making small profits individually. When using the scalping strategies of trading, the profits are usually anywhere between 5 to 10 pips for each trade. These strategies require constant Forex market analysis and the trader also need to place multiple trades at once. They can be pretty demanding and traders need to be relatively fast in predicting where the markets are headed so they can open and close positions in the shortest time possible.

Forex pivot point strategies - Pivots make it possible to identity entry points especially for range bound traders. These points are also helpful to breakout traders and trend traders in spotting key points that need breaking for given trading move so they qualify as breakout. Traders who understand pivot and calculations around it will find these strategies quite helpful in trading currencies. It is important to remember that calculating pivot using closing prices of the short time frame reduces significance and accuracy of the point of rotation. The calculations need to be precise because they make the Forex market backbone.

Forex chart pattern strategies - Charts are vital in Forex trading in assisting traders in the markets. There are different chart patterns that can be used when trading, but the most common patterns are triangle and head and shoulder. Triangle patterns occur mostly in short-term time frames and can descend, ascend or be symmetrical. Price converges with low and high creates the triangle leading into the tight price area. The head and shoulder pattern on the other hand is more like topping formation when an uptrend occurs and bottoming formation when there is downtrend. The pattern will usually complete in Head and Shoulder when the trend line is broken.

Forex Renko chart strategies - Renko charts are constructed when price surpasses bottom or top of the previous brick by pre-defined amounts. When this happens, the brick is moved in the next column. White bricks are usually used when the trend is up, whereas the black ones are used when the trend is down. This type of charting is useful in identifying key resistance and also support levels. In Renko charts, time and volume really have no major role. You will find all kinds of trading strategies that are Renko chart based to assist your trades.

Other Forex trading strategies you can use are the Bollinger Bands, Forex breakout, Forex support and resistance, Forex candlestick and Forex swing trading strategies.

Picking the best Forex trading strategy

With so many trading strategies available it can be challenging for traders, especially beginners, to decide which way to take. But using a few tips you can have an easier time choosing the best.

Set trading goals and decide whether to go long term or short term. It also helps to decide whether to trade full time or part time. This way you will be able to choose the strategy that best suits you as a trading individual.

Choose a unique strategy by comparing strategies and what they have in store for you. If a strategy does not seem to lie in your best interest, then it is not the right one for you.

Experiment on the strategy you prefer before settling for it. Experimenting first gives a chance to have a deeper understanding of what the strategy is all about and see whether it has worked for other traders in the past or not.

It is also important that you get familiar with trading styles so you can choose the perfect strategy for your trading. For instance, short term traders should consider trading styles like day trading, scalping, position trading and swing trading among others.

The trading strategy you choose can make or break your trades. Take your time to learn as much as possible about the different strategies them make an informed decision.
